Bring Night

The Drop

Tired yet unable to sleep,
as time goes by from days to weeks.
A hush has fallen upon her face,
her minds condition is in a grim state.

Further and further she begins to slip,
at the point of losing her well placed grip,
on the reality she had so carefully created,
her view slowly becoming sedated.

How much longer will she last?
It’s the only thing she seems to ask.
As all those around her rush away,
Facing a storm, yet another day.

Left there to silently scream and dangle,
the pit beneath her looking forward to it’s chance to strangle,
Another person who’s hopes and dreams have come to a stop,
as she too looses her hold, and begins to drop.

Lying on his back like the lies on his tongue
He looked upward towards the place he was from
Only to see the figure of a girl falling fast
Knowing her mind is where his was last

Countless days spend in his own sepulcher
Too damp for predators, Too dark for vultures
So true it may seem his body left in one piece
But far long ago his soul had been released

He too dropped but far long before she
King of the monkey bars until he did see
He was no animal and far from a monkey
Slipped from his safety into a dark sea

Without cause or purpose he floats and drifts
There is a light far above and he stares at it
However his eyes close slowly, the light now dim
His seems to fade out, as she now falls in
